The Grand Gourmet series impresses with its sophisticated design and high functionality. The knife blades are made of special high quality knife steel. Traditional blacksmithing and the latest Performance Cut manufacturing technology are combined in their production. This results in very sharp knives, resistant to damage or breakage, which also retain their sharpness for an incredibly long time. The service life of the knives is even twice as long as the standards require.

Grand Gourmet knives represent a new dimension in slicing. Indestructible handles in matt stainless steel Cromargan® give a luxurious impression. Designed with ergonomics in mind, they fit perfectly in the hand. Flawless workmanship with a smooth transition between handle and bolster ensures optimal hygiene. The knives are easy to clean, just rinse them under running water. The attractive packaging also makes them the perfect gift.

Technologies and materials used

For the production of the knives, special high-quality knife steel was used, which is fine-grained, hard and less susceptible to corrosion. In addition, thanks to the flat cut, it is highly resistant to damage or breakage while maintaining excellent cutting performance. Its properties are further enhanced for knife making by forging, which homogenises and densifies its structure.

Special Performance Cut technology combines the advantages of traditional forging with the benefits of modern manufacturing processes. The result is an excellent edge. Precise sharpening at a constant angle is also crucial for excellent knife quality. It is the flat cut that makes the knives so sharp.

The bolster is integrated as part of the blade from a single piece of steel. Ensures correct weight distribution, protects fingers from slipping on the blade and ensures precise control of the knife.

The ergonomic handle is made of high-quality matt stainless steel Cromargan®, which contains 72% steel, 18% chromium and 10% nickel. It is a durable, stainless steel material, resistant to food acids. Easy to clean.

WMF knife maintenance

Grand Gourmet knives are not dishwasher safe. For such high-quality knives, only hand washing under running water is recommended, which is gentler on the knives and also much faster.

WMF knife sharpening

Every knife should be sharpened from time to time, but ideally should be sharpened with a sharpener after each use. For sharpening the Grand Gourmet knives we recommend a sharpener (must be sharpened at an angle of 13°) or WMF sharpeners.
